Zebra Posters & Prints
There is that wall, waiting, and that longing to finally see something striking on it. The zebra poster answers with the most graphic side of the savannah: stripes that give structure to the space, from photographic black and white to bursts of rainbow colour. A light print, to frame or to arrange in a gallery wall, that changes the mood of a room in a single gesture.

The zebra poster: stripes that transform a wall
A bare wall is more noticeable than you might think. Yet a single print is all it takes to bring it to life, and few animals do it as well as the zebra. Its stripes trace bold lines that guide the eye, and its black and white goes with almost everything. As a poster, this graphic quality takes on a lighter touch: you frame it in minutes, move it around, refresh it with the seasons, without ever giving up on elegance.
At MyselfMonArt, a creative studio founded in Toulouse in 2022, every image is selected and then retouched by hand by our art direction team: the contrasts, the light, the accuracy of the colours. Your poster is then printed to order, in high definition, on genuine 250gsm photo paper, edge to edge, for a crisp, luminous full-bleed finish.
What does the zebra symbolise?
If the zebra is so loved in interior decor, it is also because of the story it tells. Its black and white stripes balance each other without ever fading away. They are unique to each animal, like a signature. And this great traveller of the savannah lives in a herd, an image of shared freedom. A zebra print is a little of that harmony of opposites hanging on your wall, and an invitation to travel.
Which zebra poster should you choose?
The black and white zebra print, photographic elegance
Black and white never goes out of style, and nothing shows off the pattern better. The wild gaze in black and white draws you into the heart of the coat, in a striking face-to-face. The zebra in the snow captures a moment of winter held in suspense. And the intimate portrait with golden stripes emerges in chiaroscuro against a black background. In a room full of colour, a black and white zebra poster gives the eye a place to rest; in a pared-back setting, it becomes the wall's signature. This optical play also inspired Victor Vasarely, whose painting Zebras (1937) is often described as one of the very first works of op art. It sits naturally alongside our other black and white posters.
Colour, for pop energy
Colour, meanwhile, brings a breath of pop. The rainbow zebra unrolls multicoloured stripes full of energy, waking up a white wall and a child's room alike. To carry this spirit further, discover our pop art posters.
African spirit, for graphic warmth
The zebra with tribal patterns and copper ochres warms the wall with its earthy tones, while the African mother and child with zebra patterns turns the stripe into clothing, in a tender, graphic illustration. Pair them with our African posters and prints, and draw styling ideas from our guide to African decor.
Framing your zebra print
You have two options. Choose No frame and you receive the print on its own, ready to slip into a standard shop-bought frame of the same size, or into a made-to-measure frame for larger sizes: slim and black for a gallery look, pale wood for a softer feel. Choose With frame and it arrives ready to hang, in four finishes: white, matte black, light oak or walnut, in 30 × 40, 60 × 80 or 75 × 100 cm (11.8 × 15.7, 23.6 × 31.5 or 29.5 × 39.4 in). The White border option adds a margin around the image, much like a mount: the stripes have room to breathe and the whole piece gains in refinement.
Prefer an artist's-studio feel, with no frame at all? A print can also hang between two wooden poster hangers, or from discreet clips on a taut wire. For a large size, spread the hanging points evenly: our tips for hanging safely will help.
Where should you hang a zebra poster?
- In the living room: above the sofa, aim for a print, or an arrangement, covering between half and two thirds of the width of the furniture. A 75 × 100 or 90 × 120 cm (29.5 × 39.4 or 35.4 × 47.2 in) makes a real statement. More ideas among our living room posters.
- In the bedroom: a black and white version above the headboard brings a hushed elegance, perfect for calm. Discover our bedroom posters.
- In a child's room: children recognise the zebra at first glance. The rainbow print or the tender African mother and child feel right at home there, as do our kids' room posters.
- In the entryway or hallway: a portrait format sets the tone from the doorway. Discover our entryway and hallway posters.
- In the home office: the clean lines of a black and white zebra structure the space without distracting. Discover our office posters.
- In a bathroom or toilet: the little graphic touch, with a dash of humour, that takes everyone by surprise. Choose a well-ventilated wall, away from water splashes.
To find the right size, the pointers in our guide how to choose the right size of wall art apply to posters too.
Creating a gallery wall around the zebra
Posters are made for gallery walls. Start with a zebra print as the centrepiece, then surround it with pieces that echo it: other animals of the savannah, such as the lion poster, nature prints or black and white images. Three rules are all you need:
- a common thread: the palette (black, white, ochre) or the theme (the savannah);
- one family of frames, or two finishes that complement each other, such as matte black and light oak;
- even spacing, 5–8 cm (2–3 in) between each print.
Lay your prints out on the floor first to find the right balance. A symmetrical pair above a bed, a trio in a row above a sofa or a grid of six prints on a large wall: the scale is yours to choose.
Zebra poster or canvas?
A poster is all about flexibility: a light, affordable photo print, ideal for a first decorating project, a gift, a rental or a wall you like to keep evolving. A canvas, stretched by hand over a solid wood stretcher, settles in as a centrepiece made to last, with the texture and depth of a true artwork. One does not rule out the other: they are two ways of bringing a wall to life. Several of our zebras come in both versions: find them in our Zebra Artwork collection.

FAQ
Your questions about zebra posters & prints
What does the zebra symbolise in interior decor?
The zebra symbolises balance, as its black and white stripes answer each other without fading away, and individuality: every zebra's stripes are unique, like a fingerprint. As a herd animal, it also evokes freedom and our bonds with others. In interior decor, a zebra print brings a soothing graphic contrast and a hint of escape to the African savannah, while remaining very easy to work into any space.
Zebra poster or canvas: which should I choose?
Choose a poster for flexibility: a light, affordable photo print that is easy to frame and to change whenever you like. Opt for a canvas for a lasting centrepiece, stretched by hand over a solid wood stretcher. Several of our zebras are available in both versions: find the canvases in our Zebra Artwork collection.
How should I frame a zebra print?
Choose “No frame” and the print slips into a standard shop-bought frame of the same size, or into a made-to-measure frame for larger sizes. Choose “With frame” and it arrives ready to hang, in white, matte black, light oak or walnut, from 30 × 40 to 75 × 100 cm (11.8 × 15.7 to 29.5 × 39.4 in). The “White border” option adds a margin around the image, much like a mount, for a gallery effect that lets the stripes breathe.
How can I hang a poster on the wall without a frame?
For an artist's-studio feel, hang your print between two wooden poster hangers, or attach it with discreet clips on a taut wire. These solutions do not pierce the paper and make it easy to swap prints. For a crisper, longer-lasting result, especially in a large size, framing remains the best option.
What size zebra poster should I choose?
Our prints come in 30 × 40, 60 × 80, 75 × 100 and 90 × 120 cm (11.8 × 15.7, 23.6 × 31.5, 29.5 × 39.4 and 35.4 × 47.2 in). Aim for between half and two thirds of the width of the furniture you are hanging it above: a 75 × 100 or 90 × 120 cm (29.5 × 39.4 or 35.4 × 47.2 in) above a sofa, a 60 × 80 cm (23.6 × 31.5 in) above a console table. The 30 × 40 cm (11.8 × 15.7 in) is ideal in a gallery wall. Not sure? Cut a piece of cardboard to size and hold it against the wall.
Is a zebra print suitable for a child's room?
Yes, all the more so as children recognise the zebra at first glance. The rainbow zebra brings cheer, the African mother and child with zebra patterns a tender softness, and a black and white version will grow up alongside your child. Pair it with other savannah animals to create a little safari on the wall. More ideas in our kids' room posters.
Can I hang a zebra print in a bathroom?
Yes, it is even an original way to bring a graphic touch and a dash of humour to a bathroom or a downstairs loo. As with any paper print, choose a well-ventilated wall, away from water splashes and direct steam from the shower. The “With frame” option gives a crisper, more polished result in these smaller rooms.
How good is the quality of your posters?
Each print is produced to order in high definition on genuine 250gsm photo paper, edge to edge for a full-bleed finish. Colours are vibrant and true, details sharp, bringing out the fine lines of the stripes. Our images are selected and retouched by hand in our Toulouse studio, designed in France and printed in Europe. Delivery is free.
